Senior Production and Quality Engineer

Location: On-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, with 30% travel to industry sites; teleworking is not available.

Estimated salary: $148,000–$164,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support production and quality activities for an early-development classified defense program.
• Evaluate suppliers, facilities, contractor design and manufacturing activities, and quality planning.
• Conduct quality research, data analysis, capacity analysis, and scalability assessments.
• Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing plans, production processes, affordability, schedules, and production readiness.
• Prepare technical risk assessments and provide technical input during design reviews, program meetings, and decision briefings.
• Support risk-reduction efforts, Production Readiness Reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments, Quality System Evaluations, Physical Configuration Audits, Engineering Investigations, and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field, or a bachelor’s degree with four additional years of recent and relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of recent and relevant engineering experience, including three years directly related to DoD systems.
• Demonstrated engineering expertise; an industrial engineering background and manufacturing and quality experience are highly desired.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, interpersonal, customer relations, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, complete a full government background investigation, and hold an active Secret Security Clearance.
• Must work on-site at NAS Patuxent River and be able to travel to industry sites.
