Insurance Actuarial Analyst (Health and Benefits)

What you will do

• Lead the collection, validation, and analysis of complex healthcare data for strategic reports, forecasts, and cost projections.
• Provide actuarial oversight of carrier underwriting, including validation of rates, assumptions, and methodologies.
• Analyze medical, pharmacy, and stop-loss claims experience and produce budget-versus-actual reporting.
• Develop pricing and rate strategies using trend analysis, credibility, experience rating, predictive modeling, and simulation.
• Conduct benchmarking, competitive analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling for healthcare costs and high-cost risks.
• Standardize actuarial models and reporting frameworks while collaborating with underwriting, finance, consulting, and client teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6+ years of experience with a major Health and Benefits firm and 5+ years of actuarial services experience.
• Experience with health and benefits claims projections, financial modeling, data analysis, and underwriting principles.
• Ability to lead client engagements, teams, and projects and present complex information effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including expert-level Excel skills, plus experience with predictive modeling, simulation, and analytics tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as required by state regulations and hirify.global policies.
