Associate Chemist - PFAS Prep - 2nd Shift, Tues-Sat (PFAS)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite laboratory work. Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM. Training schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM.

Compensation: USD 18-20.90 per hour, including a stated $18-19/hour base rate plus a 10% shift differential.

What you will do

• Prepare environmental samples using approved scientific methods and standard laboratory techniques, with a focus on PFAS preparation.
• Perform chemical analyses, evaluate and quantify data, and report results or unusual test occurrences to the supervisor.
• Operate complex laboratory instrumentation and instrument-specific software after training.
• Complete scheduled quality control samples, maintain training documentation, and document quality issues when required.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, glassware, work-area housekeeping, and routine instrument maintenance.
• Manage assigned workload using backlog reports and support other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an associate degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, and specialized equipment.
• Ability to interpret written materials, perform calculations, identify issues, analyze root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
• Ability to work independently under close supervision while maintaining accuracy, organization, and established deadlines.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with PFAS, LC/MS, or sample preparation.
• Previous experience in a laboratory or production setting.
