Associate Chemist - Environment Testing - SVOAs - 2nd Shift, M-F (Mass Spectrometry)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite laboratory role, Monday–Friday, 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Salary: USD 18–20.90 per hour; an additional 10% shift differential may apply.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved scientific methods, standard techniques, and laboratory SOPs.
• Focus on instrumental semi-volatile organic compounds and GC/MS instrumentation.
• Evaluate, quantify, record, and report analytical data and unusual test occurrences.
• Complete assigned QC samples, including MDL, LOD/LOQ, and PT activities.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, sample purging, glassware handling, inventory, and laboratory housekeeping.
• Maintain training documentation and comply with health, safety, quality assurance, and SOP requirements.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an Associate Degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, specialized equipment, and to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to interpret written procedures, analyze data, identify issues, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, critical-thinking, and mathematical calculation skills.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with wet chemistry.
• Previous experience in a laboratory or production setting.
• Experience with gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, metals, PFAS, HRMS, radiochemistry, or other listed analytical disciplines.
