TL;DR
Associate Chemist (PFAS Analysis): Preparing and analyzing environmental samples using standard analytical techniques with an accent on PFAS sample preparation, LC/MS, data evaluation, and laboratory quality assurance. Focus on operating complex instrumentation, completing QC samples, maintaining instruments, and documenting analytical results under established SOPs.

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite laboratory work, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Salary: $18–19 per hour

What you will do

  • Prepare environmental samples and perform routine chemical analyses using approved methods and SOPs.
  • Focus on PFAS analysis and LC/MS workflows, including sample preparation and instrument-specific software.
  • Evaluate, quantify, record, and report analytical data and unusual test occurrences.
  • Complete scheduled QC samples, document quality issues, and maintain accurate training records.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance, glassware and laboratory supply inventory, sample purging, and workspace housekeeping.
  • Follow health, safety, quality assurance, and laboratory compliance procedures while supporting other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an Associate Degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, specialized equipment, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate work with minimal oversight.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience with PFAS and/or LC/MS.
  • Previous laboratory or production-setting experience.
