Lab Technician (M-F 12pm-8:30pm)

Location: Edison, New Jersey, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Onsite Monday–Friday schedule from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Salary: USD 17.50–18.00 per hour, with eligibility for benefits.

What you will do

• Retrieve samples and prepare them for analysis through aliquoting, spiking, tracing, reagent preparation, concentration preparation, separation, sonication, and bottling.
• Prepare water-on-soil samples for metals analysis and perform digestions with concentrated acids.
• Learn and use the laboratory information management system, TALS, and mercury analysis procedures.
• Record analysis results, track samples, complete bench sheets and laboratory logbooks, and resolve labeling discrepancies.
• Maintain laboratory operations by washing glassware, stocking supplies, cleaning work areas, and supporting other laboratory areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; high school chemistry coursework is preferred.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to work independently from written or verbal instructions and complete work within time and quality constraints.
• Knowledge of basic chemistry, laboratory procedures, scientific methods, standard operating procedures, mathematics, and chemical safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 30 pounds, and push or pull up to 200 pounds.
• Ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle samples, operate instruments, and perform data entry for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Basic laboratory experience.
• Previous production-oriented work and experience meeting deadlines.
• Experience or familiarity with metals preparation and analysis or wet chemistry.
