Associate Chemist (HRMS)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite, 2nd shift Tuesday–Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Training schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.

Salary: $18–$20.90 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential. The posting also lists a base rate of $18–$19 per hour.

What you will do

• Prepare environmental samples using approved standard techniques, with a primary focus on HRMS sample preparation.
• Perform routine chemical analyses, evaluate and quantify data, and report results or unusual occurrences.
• Complete assigned quality control samples, including MDL, LOD/LOQ, and PT work.
• Operate and maintain complex laboratory instruments and their dedicated software after training.
• Maintain training records, method documentation, inventories, glassware, and general laboratory housekeeping.
• Follow environmental health, safety, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures while assisting other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an associate degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, and specialized equipment.
• Ability to interpret written procedures, perform calculations, analyze data, identify issues, and propose practical solutions.
• Strong organization, communication, collaboration, accuracy, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with organic sample preparation.
• Previous experience in a laboratory or production setting.
• Experience with metals, PFAS, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, radiochemistry, wet chemistry, or high- and low-resolution preparation and analysis.
