Shift Engineer

Location: Duxford, United Kingdom; onsite shift-based role

What you will do

• Support site-wide maintenance activities to improve plant performance, reliability, safety, and production efficiency.
• Investigate faults, complete repairs, and implement root-cause corrective actions.
• Develop, execute, and maintain planned preventative maintenance schedules.
• Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and restore production.
• Diagnose PLC and variable-speed-drive issues and interpret drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Coordinate with suppliers, OEMs, contractors, and production personnel while maintaining records, reporting to stakeholders, and providing basic maintenance training.

Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Electrotechnical Services, Electrical Maintenance, or equivalent.
• BS7671 18th Edition qualification and a Level 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering Maintenance.
• Recognised engineering apprenticeship and at least five years of experience as an electrically biased maintenance engineer in a manufacturing or process environment.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations, Microsoft Office, troubleshooting, communication, organisation, and time management.
• Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Knowledge and experience with PLCs and variable speed drives.
• ATEX, DSEAR, or COMPEX training or awareness.
• IOSH qualification.
