Security Architect (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Annual salary range: $200,000–$275,000 for Washington, DC; the offer depends on experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job-related factors.

What you will do

• Design and implement security architectures and solutions, primarily for Microsoft Azure environments.
• Develop security documentation, standards, and best practices for protecting enterprise assets and data.
• Integrate and optimize secure web gateways, zero trust access, cloud security posture management, data protection, and related security controls.
• Collaborate with IT, security, business stakeholders, and security operations to align solutions with business objectives and reduce technology risk.
• Support security response, investigations, troubleshooting, log and alert analysis, and root-cause assessments.
• Design remediation strategies with Cyber Risk and Operations teams and support compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of cybersecurity experience focused on security architecture, security tools, and cloud security.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure Security Services, including Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure AD, and Azure Firewall.
• Experience with Zscaler Internet Access, Zscaler Private Access, and the Microsoft Defender suite.
• Knowledge of zero trust models, SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP, network security, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, or Azure Cloud Security certification.
• Experience automating security controls and scripting with PowerShell or Python.
• Knowledge of cloud automation templates, container security, and modern public-cloud application architectures.
