Cloud Security Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site five days a week at the Playa Vista, California office; U.S. citizenship required

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Implement security frameworks and compliance controls for NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, DoD Impact Levels, and Secure Cloud Computing Architecture requirements.
• Configure IAM, RBAC, JIT access, key vaults, encryption, network segmentation, and Zero Trust Architecture controls.
• Deploy and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, AWS security services, CSPM/CWPP solutions, and Elastic SIEM platforms.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration-testing simulations, STIG/CIS/NIST configuration reviews, audits, continuous monitoring, and incident response.
• Integrate security into CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices, automate guardrails, support secure cloud migrations, and guide engineering teams on secure design patterns.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site five days per week at the Playa Vista, California office.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a related field, or at least five years of equivalent professional experience.
• 5–9+ years of cloud security engineering experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure, Google Cloud, or multi-cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, IAM/RBAC, encryption, network security, logging, monitoring, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native security services.
• Experience with compliance frameworks, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence, Terraform, Python or PowerShell, and security automation.

Nice to have

• CISSP, AWS Certified Security-Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Security/Compliance/Identity certification, Security+, CEH, CySA+, GCIH, or related CSSP certification.
