Cloud Security Engineer (AWS GovCloud)

Location: On-site five days a week at the Playa Vista, California office

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize secure AWS GovCloud, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Apply least-privilege access, encryption, network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, IAM, RBAC, JIT access, and data protection controls.
• Deploy and optimize cloud-native security services, CSPM/CWPP tools, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, AWS security services, and Elastic SIEM.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration-testing simulations, configuration reviews against STIGs, CIS benchmarks, and NIST controls, and continuous cloud monitoring.
• Prepare and maintain SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, risk reports, policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
• Investigate indicators of compromise and security incidents, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate incident response, and guide teams on secure cloud design and automation.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to work on-site five days per week at the Playa Vista, California office.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a related field, or five-plus years of equivalent professional experience.
• 5–9+ years of cloud security engineering experience, including hands-on work with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud, or multi-cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security, IAM/RBAC, encryption, network security, logging and monitoring, cloud-native security services, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, DoD Impact Levels, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence, Python or PowerShell, Terraform or CloudFormation, and security automation.

Nice to have

• CISSP, AWS Certified Security–Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity certification, Security+, CEH, CySA+, GCIH, or related CSSP certification.
• Experience with Azure Sentinel, NESSUS, Burp Suite, Microsoft Defender, or equivalent AWS security tools.
