Senior Business Systems Analyst (Insurance)

Base salary: $104,045–$122,405 per year

What you will do

• Lead requirements gathering, decomposition, analysis, and documentation for complex business systems.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and alignment across business and IT.
• Coordinate with developers, testers, data teams, product owners, scrum leads, and project managers throughout software delivery.
• Support testing and UAT, maintain requirements traceability, and validate business and functional outcomes.
• Monitor post-implementation issues, support user training, and document enhancement requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and three to five-plus years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Agile delivery, backlog management, prioritization, SDLC methodologies, and functional specifications.
• Ability to perform process mapping, data analysis, wireframing, prototyping, and SQL queries.
• Experience with automated testing tools, quality assurance practices, UAT, and requirements traceability.
• Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Suite, with strong analytical, communication, problem-resolution, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required, at 10% or less.

Nice to have

• Experience in the professional or commercial insurance industry.
• Understanding of underwriting workflows, risk assessment, and the policy lifecycle.
• Experience with externally facing applications and coordination with Legal, Security, and Corporate Communications.
