Associate Chemist (Environment Testing)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. Onsite role, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; training follows the same schedule.

Pay: $18–$19 per hour.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved scientific methods and standard laboratory techniques.
• Focus on volatile organic compounds and GC/MS instrumentation.
• Evaluate, quantify, record, and report analytical data and unusual test occurrences.
• Complete scheduled QC samples, document quality issues, and maintain accurate training records.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, sample purging, glassware handling, inventory, and laboratory housekeeping.
• Follow environmental health, safety, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an associate degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Ability to work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, specialized equipment, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while following written or verbal instructions and meeting deadlines.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with wet chemistry.
• Previous experience in a laboratory or production setting.
• Experience with related disciplines such as metals, PFAS, HRMS, radiochemistry, or high- and low-resolution analysis.
