Associate Chemist - Environment Testing - Wet Chemistry - 1st Shift, M-F (Wet Chemistry)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite, Monday-Friday, 1st shift

Salary: $18-$19 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved scientific methods and standard laboratory techniques.
• Perform instrumental wet chemistry, evaluate and quantify data, and report results or unusual test occurrences.
• Complete assigned quality control samples, maintain training records, and document nonconformities.
• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and specialized equipment.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and glassware, purge analyzed samples, and support other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an Associate Degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
• Ability to work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, specialized equipment, and to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to interpret written materials, perform calculations, analyze data, identify issues, and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong organization, collaboration, accuracy, and ability to follow written or verbal instructions.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with wet chemistry.
• Previous experience in a laboratory or production setting.
• Experience with organic preparation, metals analysis, PFAS or HRMS sample preparation, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, radiochemistry, or high- and low-resolution analysis.
