Location: New Hudson, Michigan, United States; work is primarily performed on-site. Testing may also take place at field sites, proving grounds, tracks, wind tunnels, climatic chambers, customer sites, and manufacturing sites. Frequent domestic travel and occasional extended or international assignments may be required.

What you will do
- Scope, plan, execute, and report on small test and development projects while leading medium-sized projects and supporting larger programs.
- Translate customer and program requirements into test objectives, acceptance criteria, procedures, instrumentation plans, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
- Select, configure, calibrate, integrate, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems and instrumentation for vehicle and component measurements.
- Develop analysis workflows, verify data quality and measurement validity, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Design test fixtures and instrumentation integration kits using CAD/CAE tools, and develop test controls and automation.
- Coordinate engineers, interns, and laboratory technicians while supporting safe test readiness, risk mitigation, and customer communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in materials science, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, automotive, mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Typically 3–6 years of relevant experience in testing, validation, product development, or production verification.
- Proficiency in data acquisition, instrumentation, data analysis, technical reporting, and project execution.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet technical and customer commitments, and mentor less experienced personnel.
- Employment may require compliance with U.S. export-control requirements and, when applicable, obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Some assignments require a valid driver license and the ability to obtain customer-site, proving-ground, state logistics, commercial, chauffeur, or military vehicle operator credentials.
Nice to have
- Experience with DEWESoft, FlexPro, MATLAB, DIAdem, nCode, Python, database tools, or advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with strain-gage installations, calibration methods, force or torque transducers, PLC systems, and test automation platforms.
- Knowledge of production validation, requirements traceability, configuration control, test-method validation, ISO 9001 environments, vehicle dynamics, or vehicle logistics.
- Skilled-trades experience in fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or additive manufacturing.
