Senior Calibration Engineer (xEV Powertrain): Developing, optimizing, validating, and releasing vehicle-level calibrations for electric and hybrid delivery vehicle powertrains and motion-control systems with an accent on drivability, regenerative braking, torque management, efficiency, and safety. Pay range: $91,500–$148,100 per year

What you will do

  • Lead development, integration, validation, and production release of propulsion, chassis, braking, steering, ADAS, and body-system calibrations.
  • Own vehicle-level calibration strategies covering drivability, torque delivery, charging, thermal management, regenerative braking, traction control, stability control, and one-pedal driving.
  • Define calibration requirements, acceptance criteria, performance metrics, and vehicle attribute targets.
  • Lead calibration activities during prototype builds, proving-ground events, dynamometer testing, seasonal validation, and production launches.
  • Analyze complex vehicle datasets to optimize torque response, energy consumption, motor efficiency, braking, stability, ride, handling, and driver controls.
  • Coordinate integration with systems, software, hardware, functional safety, validation, and supplier engineering teams; maintain release plans, documentation, and change management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, software engineering, computer science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience developing embedded automotive software and/or calibrations.
  • Production electric or hybrid powertrain calibration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electric propulsion, vehicle dynamics, brake systems, vehicle motion controls, torque management, regenerative braking, and energy management.
  • Experience with ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, CANalyzer, CANoe, or equivalent calibration tools, plus CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, and UDS diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree, 10+ years of experience, or leadership of production BEV calibration programs.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, ATI Vision, dSPACE, Python, Jira, Vector vCDM, or AVL Creta.
  • Model-Based Development and MIL, SIL, and HIL validation experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, and ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity.
  • Commercial vehicle, off-highway, heavy-duty electric vehicle, or supplier integration experience.
