Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Base salary: $180,000–$225,000 USD per year, excluding bonus, equity, commissions, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement features across the Client Connector Agent service, user-mode interface, RPC server, session handler, data handler, and tunnel telemetry.
• Diagnose and fix production issues involving service crashes, race conditions, lifetime bugs, and cross-process synchronization.
• Improve reliability of long-running Windows services, including cleanup, shutdown, and inter-process communication paths.
• Develop VDI-specific flows for SMB tunnel traffic accounting and session lifecycle management.
• Review code, raise engineering quality standards, and mentor engineers in Windows systems programming.

Requirements

• 8+ years of production software engineering experience with strong C++14/17 expertise.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Windows internals, including services, user sessions, security tokens, IPC, and process/thread lifetime.
• Experience debugging multithreaded C++ involving races, deadlocks, iterator invalidation, and use-after-free issues.
• Proficiency with WinDbg, ETW, Process Monitor, and crash dump analysis.
• Experience shipping and maintaining an enterprise desktop or endpoint product.

Nice to have

• Background in networking, VPN, ZTNA, or secure tunneling architectures.
• Experience with RPC, named pipes, or COM.
• Familiarity with Citrix, VMware Horizon, AVD, installer and updater flows, or kernel-mode components.
