Sr. Software Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Bellevue, WA, or New York, NY for local hybrid employees; fully remote for employees located farther from company offices in roles that are not office-based. Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States.

Target cash compensation: $140,183–$179,436 USD annually, plus equity and standard benefits.

What you will do

• Design extensible, testable, and shareable software domains for multiple engineering teams.
• Make architectural decisions and redesign legacy services for high availability, reliability, and operability.
• Develop automation systems, debug complex CI/CD issues, and implement secure deployment strategies.
• Apply AI coding tools and LLMs to improve engineering productivity, while mentoring colleagues in AI-first development practices.
• Lead root cause analysis, reduce operational toil, and build self-service platform capabilities.
• Drive scalable, cost-efficient AWS solutions and align technical strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Significant experience developing shareable software features across multiple engineering projects and leading small-to-mid-sized technical initiatives.
• Expert knowledge of AWS, including S3, Lambda, EC2, and IAM.
• Professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, RabbitMQ or a similar message broker, Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Platform Engineering, internal developer experience, infrastructure abstraction, and self-service capabilities.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and LLMs such as Kiro, Gemini, Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with CircleCI and identifying incident trends to develop broad systemic solutions.
