Operations Manager (Natural Gas Plant)

Location: Leesburg, Virginia, US; onsite at a natural gas plant

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 annually, plus a 20% plant bonus opportunity based on performance.

Engineering and design organization supporting operations at a natural gas combined-cycle power plant.

What you will do

• Lead daily Operations Department activities and supervise Operations & Maintenance Technicians and Lead OMTs.
• Promote safe plant operations and ensure employees and contractors follow safety procedures.
• Oversee lockout/tagout, training, cross-training, qualification development, work orders, and staffing.
• Support environmental, safety, budget, performance, and facility reporting.
• Monitor and optimize plant performance through testing, evaluation, improvement recommendations, and cost justification.
• Manage chemical and consumable inventories and support compliance with the O&M agreement.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of combined-cycle power plant operations and Siemens SGT6-5000F gas turbines.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in a supervisory, management, or project oversight role.
• Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent, required.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&IDs.
• Understanding of NERC requirements, budgets, contracts, plant economics, and power system operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, reporting, and training skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a proven record of achieving goals.
• Experience or training in related plant operations and maintenance functions.
