Facility Manager (Waste-to-Energy)

Location: Niagara Falls, New York, USA; on-site facility operations with rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment

Salary: $130,900–$187,000 USD per annum

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end waste processing operations at the thermomechanical treatment facility.
• Ensure safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, and cost-effective site operations.
• Develop long-term maintenance, staffing, operational, budgetary, and capacity plans.
• Drive productivity, quality, accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
• Build and develop the site leadership team while supporting performance management and organizational capabilities.
• Coordinate outages and maintenance planning with regional and corporate resources, and maintain relationships with clients, government, community, and industry groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive power plant or manufacturing experience, ideally involving power generation or material handling.
• Experience with manufacturing operations, project planning, cost control, and program management.
• Proven leadership, communication, team-building, and performance improvement capabilities.
• Experience implementing health, safety, environmental, and business improvement programs.
• Ability to work on-site in Niagara Falls, New York, within a 24/7 rotating-shift facility environment.

Nice to have

• Management experience in a specialty chemical plant, industrial facility, coal-fired power plant, or waste-to-energy environment.
• Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Green Belt certification.
• Experience building process- and systems-focused organizational structures.
