Manufacturing Engineer (Aluminum Casting)

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; onsite work in a foundry environment

Salary: $62,800–$90,500 annually

What you will do

• Provide hands-on engineering support across the aluminum casting process, from melting and casting through finishing and downstream operations.
• Own a defined family of castings as the subject matter expert and support process stability.
• Lead improvements focused on casting quality, tool life, trimming and finishing efficiency, cost reduction, and safety.
• Support new casting program launches through DFM input and collaboration with tooling, simulation, and project management teams.
• Maintain tooling, maintenance, and part-quality records for troubleshooting and long-term improvement.
• Support PPAP documentation, validation, customer requirements, and the impact of casting quality on machining, leak testing, and painting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
• Recent graduates and candidates graduating in December 2026 are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with 3D CAD software and the ability to read casting and machining prints, tolerances, and CMM reports.
• Ability to analyze process data, troubleshoot issues, and drive improvement in a high-volume foundry environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, SharePoint, and Planner.
• Team-oriented approach and ability to work hands-on in a foundry environment.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, capstone project, or 2–3 years of experience in high-production manufacturing or metal casting.
• Exposure to machining, manufacturing processes, or continuous improvement methodologies.
