Mercury Marine - Quality Engineer, Assembly (Marine Manufacturing)

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; onsite. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Salary: $61,400–$98,600 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to reduce process and product variation in outboard assembly.
• Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, containment activities, and quality spill resolution.
• Conduct product and process audits and analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and critical product characteristics, using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment to verify conformance.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, deviations, work instructions, quality alerts, visual controls, and error-proofing solutions.
• Support training and coaching for manufacturing personnel on quality standards, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, science, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
• At least three years of quality, manufacturing, or engineering experience in a production environment.
• Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, with working knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-volume assembly manufacturing.
• ASQ quality certification, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, process capability studies, validation activities, GD&T, and dimensional inspection.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, PINpoint, ProPlanner, or similar manufacturing and data analysis systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
