What you will do

• Manage vendor tooling programs across stamped metal, castings, extrusions, structural components, and soft trim from tool award through production runoff and PPAP approval.
• Track tooling build status, milestone adherence, compliance, asset records, runoff readiness, and launch support.
• Conduct tool trials and first article inspections, and evaluate dimensional and process capability data from tool-sourced parts.
• Drive corrective actions for tooling-related non-conformances and coordinate Engineering Change implementation at the tool level.
• Support capacity verification and partner with Purchasing and Program Management to protect tooling budgets and timing.
• Provide technical mentorship to SQEs and guide supplier engagement and tooling evaluation methods.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent previous working-level experience.
• 8+ years of experience in supplier tooling, tool engineering, or supplier quality in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with mold, die, and fixture design, construction, and runoff across varied tooling and commodity types.
• Experience identifying dimensional, cosmetic, and process capability root causes and driving corrective action using 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa methods.
• Ability to interpret GD&T, tool drawings, and die or mold design prints, as well as CMM data, dimensional reports, Cpk, Ppk, and Gauge R&R studies.
• Strong supplier relationship, analytical, communication, prioritization, and escalation skills in fast-paced launch environments.
