What you will do

• Provide global customs classifications for commodities using WCO legal criteria and technical specifications.
• Lead classification projects to ensure consistent application of Harmonized System classifications worldwide.
• Manage classification requests from internal business partners and coordinate with external resources.
• Serve as the Single Point of Contact for Customs Compliance Teams and support governance activities.
• Resolve classification issues raised by customs and government officials, including matters with legal and financial implications.
• Maintain classification records in Mercury Gclass and support classification training for regional teams.

Requirements

• Competent understanding of WCO Harmonized System classification, with expertise developed through training and practical experience.
• Ability to collaborate with regional and local customs compliance teams, technical contacts, regulatory bodies, and external parties worldwide.
• Strong analytical, logical problem-solving, and technical information interpretation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and long-term projects, and meet established deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including preparation of confidential documentation for government officials and external parties.
• Availability for minimal travel, approximately 1–2 times per year, including potential international trips.
