What you will do

  • Lead and manage the U.S. import and export trade compliance program.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations, import/export laws, trade agreements, and global trade requirements.
  • Advise the business on tariffs, customs documentation, classification, valuation, and country-of-origin requirements.
  • Identify compliance risks, duty savings opportunities, and tariff reduction options through USMCA, free trade agreements, and other trade programs.
  • Partner with supply chain, procurement, logistics, finance, executive leadership, and external customs partners.
  • Support audits, compliance reporting, process improvements, and trade compliance training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, international trade, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, import/export operations, or global trade management.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, tariff classification, valuation, and import/export compliance requirements.
  • Experience with USMCA, free trade agreements, and customs compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • U.S. Customs Broker License.
  • Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments.
  • Knowledge of Mexico Customs regulations and IMMEX programs.
  • Experience with CTPAT, ACE reporting, duty drawback, and customs audits.
