TL;DR
Import/Export Compliance Specialist (Global Trade Compliance): Managing product classifications, customs requirements, export controls, and import/export transactions for water solutions with an accent on HTS and ECCN classification, country-of-origin analysis, and regulatory compliance. Focus on resolving blocked transactions, conducting compliance audits, screening business partners, and assessing risks under USMCA, sanctions, and other trade measures.

Location: North Aurora, Illinois, United States of America; full-time, onsite position.

Annual base pay: $71,000–$131,800, with potential eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

  • Maintain HTS and ECCN product classifications with Engineering and Product Management.
  • Provide guidance on import/export regulations and global trade compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and resolve blocked import/export transactions, sales orders, and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and government agencies.
  • Analyze country of origin, USMCA and FTA eligibility, BOMs, costs, and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct restricted-party screenings, compliance audits, risk assessments, and corrective-action planning.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Customs, International Trade, Import/Export, or Trade Compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready import/export records and supporting documentation.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
  • Experience with trade compliance and ERP systems.
