Quality & Safety Manager

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; in-person field work required 2–3 days per week

Salary: $25–30 per hour; expected hours: 20–30 hours per week, including evening and/or weekend coverage

What you will do

• Conduct on-the-road supervision, ride-alongs, and shadowing to verify safety and service-standard compliance.
• Monitor driver interactions and performance, providing feedback, coaching, and hands-on guidance.
• Partner with the Field Manager to deliver initial, remedial, and refresher driver training.
• Lead post-accident and post-incident protocols as the Designated Employer Representative for DOT compliance.
• Respond to urgent operational issues and implement real-time solutions to maintain service continuity.
• Review complaints, driver feedback, and training documentation; assess training needs and implement improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in transit supervision, transportation management, or a similar field is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide drivers.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic situations.
• Strong communication skills, including feedback delivery and conflict resolution.
• Ability to provide in-person, on-the-road supervision and cover some evenings and weekends.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and ADA/paratransit compliance.
