What you will do

  • Coordinate DOE directives, technical standards, and safety and security compliance programs for the Hanford Field Office.
  • Conduct safety assessments and inspections, analyze compliance, and oversee risk-management activities.
  • Track safety metrics and develop performance dashboards and reports.
  • Support incident investigations, enforcement activities, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical and coordination support across industrial hygiene, occupational safety, environmental, regulatory, nuclear safety, quality assurance, fire protection, and engineering functions.
  • Collaborate with DOE and contractor stakeholders in a regulated, high-stakes nuclear cleanup environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene.
  • 5–8+ years of safety or security oversight experience.
  • Experience with safety inspections, compliance analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to demonstrate observation, coaching, and vigilance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business tools, including Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Facility Clearance is required; DOE clearance may be required for classified work.

Nice to have

  • U.S. Department of Energy or Environmental Management sector experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
