Maintenance Supervisor (Diesel Fleet)

Location: Middletown, Ohio, United States; on-site in a truck maintenance garage

Salary: $35–$45 per hour

What you will do

• Lead garage maintenance personnel, assign work, coordinate daily workflow, and monitor repair quality and completion.
• Oversee and perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs for commercial trucks, trailers, roll-off trucks, and heavy-duty fleet equipment.
• Diagnose diesel engines, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, air, brake, and basic electrical systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules, fleet readiness, maintenance records, work orders, and CMMS tracking.
• Coordinate parts, inventory, tools, vendors, and decisions about internal versus outsourced repairs.
• Promote garage safety and maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Strong truck, diesel, automotive, heavy equipment, or fleet maintenance experience.
• Hands-on truck diagnostics, troubleshooting, and brake repair experience.
• Knowledge of commercial truck and fleet maintenance, service manuals, schematics, maintenance documentation, and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with DOT requirements for commercial motor vehicles, fleet maintenance, inspections, and safety compliance.
• Supervisory, lead technician, shop foreman, or team leadership experience is preferred.
• Ability to work hands-on in an active garage, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and work additional hours, nights, weekends, or overtime when operationally required.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial truck fleets, diesel repair, heavy equipment, recycling, scrap metal, waste management, construction, transportation, or industrial equipment.
• Roll-off truck, hydraulic system, material-handling equipment, or fleet service facility experience.
• ASE, EPA Universal, diesel technician, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, hydraulic systems, or relevant safety certifications.
