Maintenance Mechanic

Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States. Workplace type: Onsite.

Compensation: $24.00–$28.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production equipment.
• Perform scheduled, emergency, and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Review and improve preventive maintenance procedures and recommend equipment upgrades.
• Identify breakdown risks and safety hazards, communicate issues to management, and maintain safe work areas.
• Train and support less experienced maintenance team members.
• Use precision measuring tools and perform basic pipe fitting and hands-on maintenance work.

Requirements

• Moderate to advanced knowledge of mechanical components, including valves, bearings, belts, gearboxes, pressure regulators, and pipe fittings.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, prints, schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
• Knowledge of CNC milling machines, saws, and flame-cutting equipment, or the ability to learn these systems quickly.
• Understanding of safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, working at heights, compressed gases, and forklift and hoist safety.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and become certified to operate forklifts and use hoists.
• General computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
