Fleet Maintenance Supervisor (Heavy Equipment)

Salary: $71,400–$98,100 per year; 10% annual incentive plan target

What you will do

• Supervise technicians performing preventive maintenance and repairs for diesel, alternate-fuel, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Plan and schedule repair work, conduct shop huddles and fleet walks, and monitor operational efficiency.
• Oversee complex diagnostics, road tests, quality-control inspections, outside repairs, and corrective actions.
• Maintain advanced engine, emissions, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, welding, and vehicle body-control expertise.
• Manage inventory, parts purchasing, expenses, maintenance records, payroll administration, and departmental budgets.
• Coach, train, evaluate, and support hiring, termination, promotions, and performance decisions for technicians.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of heavy-equipment maintenance experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience as a lead technician, supervisor, or manager.
• High school diploma or GED.
• ASE certification, including T3 Drive, T4 Brake, T5 Suspension and Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, T7 HVAC Systems, ASE T2 Diesel Engine, and ASE T Master Certified.
• Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA, and federal and state regulations.
