TL;DR
Analytical Engineer II (CFD): Supporting new product development through CFD, FEA, multiphysics simulations, reduced-order modeling, and laboratory measurements with an accent on fan design, internal flow paths, structural durability, and thermal-fluid performance. Focus on developing RANS and scale-resolving simulation techniques, optimizing designs through DOE and meta-modeling, and predicting mechanical and thermal system behavior with MATLAB, Simscape, or Python.

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; on-site work required at least 3 days per week

Company

hirify.global - TTI.

What you will do

  • Support new product development through CAE simulations, including CFD and FEA.
  • Design axial and centrifugal fans, develop internal flow paths, and evaluate structural integrity and durability.
  • Develop multiphysics simulation techniques for conjugate heat transfer, spray atomization, aeroacoustics, and multiphase flows.
  • Perform design optimization and sensitivity analyses using design of experiments and meta-modeling.
  • Develop reduced-order plant models for mechanical and thermal system performance using MATLAB, Simscape, Python, or similar languages.
  • Conduct laboratory measurements for sound, vibration, fan and vacuum performance, pressure loss, temperature, flow rate, torque, and power.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field, plus 6 or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in commercial CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simscape, Simulink, Python, Fortran, C, C++, VB, or a similar computational language.
  • Experience with CFD or FEA, including compressible and incompressible flow simulations using RANS and scale-resolving techniques.
  • Experience with multiphysics simulations such as CHT, DPM, electromagnetics, aeroacoustics, FSI, and multiphase flow.
  • On-site presence in Anderson, SC is required at least 3 days per week.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work with the Advanced Engineering team on research and development of new products and technologies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of engineering developments and recommend product innovations.
