Project Engineer 3 - Value Engineering

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; 10% international travel required

What you will do

• Lead multiple low- to moderately complex Value Engineering projects from concept through implementation.
• Drive product teardowns, benchmarking, cost modeling, and identification of cost-reduction opportunities.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies while tracking savings, risks, and timelines.
• Lead technical tradeoff discussions balancing cost, performance, and schedule.
• Work with global suppliers and cross-functional engineering, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, finance, and product management teams.
• Validate alternative materials, components, and supplier proposals, and coordinate qualification testing for safety, durability, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience, including product development or Value Engineering project management.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with DFMA, cost modeling, root cause analysis, teardown benchmarking, and cost optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project leadership, and multitasking skills.
• Experience with global suppliers and overseas manufacturing environments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CAD tools and simulation techniques.
• Experience drafting comprehensive test plans and specifications.
