Project Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; international travel required.

What you will do

• Manage multiple product development projects from early concept through mass production.
• Coordinate daily technical and project communications among engineers and non-technical stakeholders in Anderson and international locations.
• Drive product designs that meet cost, schedule, reliability, market, and high-volume manufacturing requirements.
• Evaluate design alternatives and oversee the integration of complex components, assemblies, materials, packaging, and safety features.
• Develop product, performance, and testing specifications and lead design and safety reviews.
• Support quality compliance, patent clearance, innovation protection, and manufacturing implementation.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in mechanical engineering and product development.
• Ability to work with design development methods including Value and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, design of experiments, design for manufacture, assembly and inspection, CAD analysis, and 3D design tools.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work from the Anderson, South Carolina office and travel internationally.

Nice to have

• Internal combustion engine design experience.
• Plastic tooling and structural design experience.
• Consumer product design experience.
• Experience developing electronic consumer products.
