Project Engineer II

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; onsite at the Anderson office. International travel is required.

What you will do

• Manage multiple product development projects from early concept through mass production.
• Coordinate daily technical and project communications with engineering and non-technical stakeholders in Anderson and internationally.
• Drive product designs that meet cost, timing, reliability, market, and high-volume manufacturing requirements.
• Evaluate design alternatives and implement selected solutions into mass production.
• Lead technical execution covering component and assembly integration, material selection, packaging, safety, regulatory compliance, and standards compliance.
• Develop product, performance, and testing specifications and conduct design, safety, and quality reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in mechanical engineering and product development.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with design development tools such as Value and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, design of experiments, design for manufacture, assembly and inspection, CAD analysis, and 3D design tools.
• Ability to address patent clearance and support patent development.

Nice to have

• Internal combustion engine design experience.
• Plastic tooling and structural design experience.
• Consumer product design experience.
• Product development experience with electronic consumer products.
