Payroll Tax Intern

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, United States; hybrid schedule with four days onsite, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM

What you will do

• Assist with federal, state, and local payroll tax filings.
• Reconcile payroll tax liabilities with payroll registers and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor multi-state tax registrations and track updates to tax rates, wage bases, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Support quarterly and annual payroll tax reconciliations.
• Identify and troubleshoot payroll tax discrepancies and notices from tax agencies.
• Complete additional payroll tax projects and ad hoc duties.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and contribute effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Piscataway, New Jersey, four days per week.

• Mandarin Chinese language skills.
