Senior Payroll Analyst (Temporary) (Payroll)

Location: Onsite five days a week in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM EST

Salary: $90,000-$115,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Process and review high-volume, multi-state US payroll for salaried, hourly, and other employee populations.
• Handle complex adjustments, reversals, voids, retroactive payments, overpayments, repayments, manual checks, and off-cycle payrolls.
• Support federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, including notices, amended filings, W-2s, and W-2Cs.
• Perform gross-to-net, tax, 401(k), benefits, deductions, garnishment, bank funding, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Audit large payroll data sets, investigate variances, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve vendor and stakeholder escalations.
• Support system integrations, testing, automation, process improvements, documentation, and guidance for junior payroll analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• 5-8+ years of US payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• Experience with complex payroll adjustments, payroll tax, 401(k), gross-to-net, bank, benefits, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, auditing, and large-data analysis skills.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, filtering, and large-data analysis.
• Ability to work onsite in Englewood Cliffs, NJ five days per week during EST business hours. Payroll or HCM systems experience is required; UKG Pro experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• ADP Smart Tax Compliance experience.
• CPP certification; FPC certification may be considered.
• Experience with payroll integrations, implementations, process redesign, automation, public companies, or Sarbanes-Oxley-controlled environments.
• Experience mentoring junior payroll team members or serving as an escalation point.
