Azure Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $99,600–$169,200 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Design and operate Azure landing zones, subscriptions, virtual networks, subnets, routing, NSGs, and Private Link connectivity.
• Manage Azure Container Apps, App Services, Functions, VMs, App Configuration, Key Vault, and SQL Server.
• Partner with Java engineering teams to containerize Spring Boot services, tune JVM performance, and implement blue/green and canary deployments.
• Automate infrastructure and delivery using Terraform or Bicep, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, GitOps, and policy-based guardrails.
• Establish observability, SLOs, SLIs, dashboards, alerting, autoscaling, and cost controls.
• Drive incident response, root-cause analysis, resilience improvements, design documentation, and cloud governance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud infrastructure or SRE.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Container Apps, App Services, Functions, Private Endpoints or Private Link, Key Vault, App Configuration, and SQL Server.
• Strong Java ecosystem knowledge, including JVM tuning, Spring Boot microservices, containerization, and serverless batch patterns.
• Experience with Terraform or Bicep, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, and GitOps workflows.
• Knowledge of RBAC, Entra ID, MFA, secrets management, least-privilege access, and compliance controls.
• U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available, including for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, and CPT status.

Nice to have

• Experience with Event Hubs, Service Bus, Kafka or Confluent, and analytics platforms.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, performance testing, and cost optimization.
• AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400 certification.
