TL;DR
MES Controls 2 (PLC) (MES, PLC, industrial automation): Supporting MES-to-PLC integrations and real-time production execution in a high-volume discrete manufacturing environment with an accent on PLC programming, HMI and industrial network troubleshooting, and manufacturing data integrity. Focus on integrating MES routines and UDTs, maintaining production reporting and quality validation, and solving complex automation and system integration issues.
Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico; onsite manufacturing environment

What you will do
- Support MES-to-PLC integrations during system launches, production ramp-ups, ongoing operations, and new production rollouts.
- Configure and maintain MES and PLC communications, including MES templates, user-defined data types, PLC tags, and transaction logic.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and industrial network issues affecting production execution, throughput, quality, and system performance.
- Maintain real-time production reporting, manufacturing data, part numbers, product structures, and MES quality validation processes.
- Collaborate with process engineering, MES, operations, production supervisors, and operators to improve manufacturing workflows.
- Document changes and troubleshooting, support audits and root cause analysis, and contribute to MES enhancements, upgrades, and process optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation, manufacturing, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC and HMI platforms.
- Strong PLC programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
- Experience supporting manufacturing automation and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and plant-floor communication protocols.
- Ability to resolve complex production and system integration issues and collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and production teams.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting MES in a production environment and integrating ERP, MES, and PLC systems.
- Knowledge of discrete manufacturing, production reporting, manufacturing data collection, and quality management systems.
- Experience with system implementations, upgrades, production launches, continuous improvement, and manufacturing process optimization.
