Associate Director, Commercial Data Management Technical Lead (Data Engineering)

Location: Remote/Home-Based for US-based candidates; locations listed are Palo Alto, CA, and Philadelphia, PA. The role requires 10–20% travel.

Base pay range for US-based candidates: $153,600–$230,400 per year, with potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Product Owners, Technical Suite Leads, and Architects to define technical roadmaps, solution architectures, feasibility assessments, dependencies, and risks.
• Design, build, configure, and integrate commercial data products that provide unified 360-degree views of HCPs, HCOs, payers, and patients.
• Develop semantic data layers, Business Rules Layers, and data integration and transformation pipelines.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and executable work for development teams.
• Lead Agile ceremonies, guide end-to-end technical delivery, and resolve complex challenges across product and technology teams.
• Implement data quality controls, validation rules, monitoring frameworks, governance practices, and downstream integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience after a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years after a Master’s degree, in data engineering, data architecture, data management, or enterprise data platform development.
• 4+ years as a Tech Lead or in a comparable hands-on technical leadership role for data engineering or data platform teams.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms, cloud data technologies, distributed data processing, orchestration, reporting tools, system integration patterns, APIs, and governed data assets.
• Experience working in Agile product teams and complex matrixed organizations, including Architecture Reviews, Security Reviews, Data Governance, and AI Council reviews.
• Ability to mentor developers and vendors and deliver secure, scalable, compliant, and high-quality data solutions.

• Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
• Experience supporting enterprise platform teams or global capability product teams.
• Experience with rare disease or specialty brands and their stakeholder environments.
