Principal Architect - Databricks

Location: US - Remote

Salary: $195,000–$250,000 annual pay, including base salary and bonus

What you will do

• Lead Databricks pursuit qualification, technical discovery, target architecture design, effort estimation, and risk assessment.
• Design enterprise Lakehouse platforms and guide migrations from Hadoop, Spark, legacy analytics platforms, data warehouses, appliances, and other cloud platforms.
• Develop technical content for proposals and Statements of Work while maintaining relationships with customer architects and data leaders.
• Review architecture decisions throughout delivery and ensure solutions align with approved scope, architecture, and technical commitments.
• Define repeatable Databricks service offerings, delivery standards, success measures, and validation evidence.
• Collaborate with Databricks field teams, specialist architects, customer stakeholders, and delivery teams.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Databricks Lakehouse architecture, platform design, enterprise migration, consolidation, and data engineering.
• Substantial hands-on Databricks experience from a Databricks partner, Databricks itself, or management of a significant internal Lakehouse environment.
• Proven success delivering enterprise-scale migration and consolidation initiatives, including the ability to discuss a major migration project in detail.
• Production experience operating and supporting machine learning or AI solutions beyond proof-of-concept implementations.
• Principal Architect-level technical leadership, including serving as the senior technical authority and committing organizations to scopes, architectures, and technical approaches.
• Presales or delivery leadership experience covering customer discussions, solution definition, proposals, Statements of Work, and technical commitments.
