Laboratory Sample Technician

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, USA; onsite at the Kansas City site

Salary: USD 18.00–20.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform routine microbiological analyses, including Total Coliform, E. coli, Total Plate Counts, MPNs, and pathogen enumeration.
• Prepare media and cultures, maintain laboratory equipment, wash glassware, and monitor cooler and freezer temperatures.
• Receive, verify, label, log, distribute, split, composite, and dispose of samples in accordance with established procedures.
• Enter sample and analysis data into the LIMS and maintain precise records, reports, protocols, and SOPs.
• Prepare bottle kits, ship samples and coolers, and coordinate transfers to other laboratories under EPA and DOT requirements.
• Support inventory, laboratory organization, vehicle maintenance, client interaction, courier duties, and non-routine on-call sampling or delivery.

Requirements

• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Valid US driver’s license and ability to drive for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• DOT certification may be required within 90 days of hire; additional client or location certifications may also be required.
• Biology degree with at least four microbiology credit hours is preferred, along with microbiology laboratory experience.
• Strong computer, scientific, organizational, communication, recordkeeping, and teamwork skills.
