NC Maintenance Mechanic I/II - 3rd Shift

Location: Shelby, North Carolina, United States. Onsite manufacturing role on the 3rd shift, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Compensation: $27.79–$30.68 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour 3rd-shift premium.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and routine equipment repairs.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, CNC, and machine-control issues according to experience level.
• Support non-routine maintenance, machine installation, commissioning, spare-part lookup, and equipment identification.
• Operate cranes and aerial lifts safely and maintain required work-area housekeeping standards.
• Record completed work in the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Follow safety procedures, complete required training, and maintain first aid/CPR and other applicable certifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• For Maintenance Mechanic II: 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, with advanced knowledge of power transmission, CNC systems, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine diagnostics.
• For Maintenance Mechanic I: basic mechanical knowledge, hand-tool skills, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to read basic blueprints and manuals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform prolonged standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, pulling, and reaching.
• Ability to work safely around operating machinery, airborne particles, forklifts, cranes, vibration, and varied noise levels while using required PPE.
• Maintenance Mechanic II candidates should understand PLC/ladder logic, electrical motors and controls, network diagnostics, NFPA 70E, and NEC guidelines.

Nice to have

• Technical certifications or an associate degree.
• Manufacturing maintenance experience for Maintenance Mechanic I.
• Experience with machine commissioning and installation, PLC programming, and leading or mentoring maintenance staff.
