TL;DR
Software Engineer (Embedded Robotics): Developing embedded software for robotic automation products used in semiconductor manufacturing with an accent on robot motion control, vacuum subsystem interfaces, and self-diagnostics. Focus on real-time multithreaded systems, low-level hardware integration, automated testing, and troubleshooting robotic systems in the field.

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States; work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on role and business needs.

Base salary: $105,593.46–$142,861.74 USD annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Develop embedded software for new and legacy robotics automation products.
  • Control robot motion, interface with vacuum chamber subsystems, and implement self-diagnostics.
  • Define product features with engineering, product management, and customers to support Design-in-Wins.
  • Write software requirements, communicate design changes, and participate in design reviews.
  • Build reliable, high-quality software using automated testing and modern DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate on robotic hardware and test equipment, and troubleshoot field issues with manufacturing and field service engineers.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C++11 or later.
  • Experience with embedded real-time systems in multithreaded and interrupt-driven environments such as QNX or Real-Time Linux.
  • Experience developing BSPs and low-level hardware interfaces, including FPGA integration, HALs, interrupt handling, and board bring-up.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design best practices.
  • Experience with SDLC practices, revision control, remote debugging, software release processes, and preferably Agile development.
  • Ability to work in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts area under the role's in-office and remote work expectations.

Nice to have

  • Customer support experience addressing field issues.
  • Experience with robotics, kinematics, dynamics, or motion planning.
  • Experience with the EtherCAT software stack.
  • Familiarity with machine learning or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or MATLAB.
