Robotics Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA office; onsite five days a week

Base salary: $174,000–$222,000 per year, plus potential equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Own and expand the on-robot software stack, from sensor interfaces and motor control to higher-level state machines and cloud data services.
• Implement support for new hardware modules, triage failures, and improve system performance.
• Collaborate with culinary and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Integrate delivery service providers for receiving orders and sending status updates.
• Create and integrate on-robot control panel interfaces.
• Work with firmware, mechanical, electrical, and frontend engineers on cohesive system functionality, code reviews, and architecture.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing software with C++.
• Experience working with Linux.
• Ability to document designs, systems, and playbooks using wikis, Markdown, or similar tools.
• Collaborative communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work onsite in the Pittsburgh office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS or similar robotics frameworks.
• Experience with Vue 3 and TypeScript for frontend applications.
• Experience with Docker, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, and Git.
• Experience with embedded Linux distributions and deploying software to physical devices.
• Experience with simulation environments, backend service simulation, testing, SQL, Superset, or Jupyter notebooks.
