Military and Family Life Counselor - Embedded (adults) (Behavioral Health)

Location: Fort Benning, Georgia, United States; candidates must be local to the base or willing to become local.

What you will do

• Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling, assessment, consultation, action planning, referrals, and follow-up to eligible service members and families.
• Deliver training, health and wellness presentations, and related activities for the assigned military unit.
• Build professional relationships with commanders, installation contacts, military personnel, and community resources.
• Respond to critical incidents, surge needs, and special requests, including flexible scheduling when urgent support is required.
• Manage duty-to-warn and restricted-reporting situations according to Department of Defense protocols while maintaining confidentiality.
• Record counselor activity data, participate in supervision and quality-improvement activities, and support initiatives and pilot programs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in behavioral health, social work, or another mental-health-related field.
• Current unrestricted independent counseling license required, such as LCSW, LMFT, or LPC.
• Less than two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Intermediate technology skills, including Microsoft Suite, internet navigation, smartphones or tablets, applications, and videoconferencing platforms.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English required.
• Successful completion of NACI, installation records, criminal-history, and FBI fingerprint checks required; some units may require a secret clearance.
