Mental Health Coordinator II / Lead Mental Health Specialist

Location: Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, USA. Full-time residential position with weekend and holiday shifts required, plus travel to programs within a designated region.

Compensation: $23–$26 per hour.

What you will do

• Coordinate finances, activities, program services, behavioral supports, family involvement, education, vocational services, healthcare, nutrition, and household management.
• Support supervisors and staff in maintaining consistent programming, individualized care, and communication with support teams.
• Create and manage staff schedules.
• Implement behavior support plans, treatment plans, functional assessments, individualized support plans, and person-centered plans.
• Provide direct care and behavioral support during direct-care shifts, using de-escalation, crisis intervention, and positive support techniques.
• Maintain therapeutic relationships and travel to assigned programs within the region.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience delivering behavioral health services.
• At least one year of lead staff experience in residential services, a related two-year degree, or demonstrated peer leadership in behavioral services.
• Experience supporting individuals with significant mental health symptoms, aggression, property destruction, chemical dependence, brain injury, or cognitive impairments.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and basic computer skills.
• Clear spoken and written English is required. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, assess situations, implement care and crisis plans, and remain active for extended periods while lifting up to 50 pounds.
