Senior Director, Litigation and Operations Strategy (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States, with in-office presence and travel as needed; preferred location is Maryland, with the Bethesda office.

Annual salary: $210,000–$350,000.

What you will do

• Set and execute litigation and operational strategy across the Staff Counsel organization, focused on cost efficiency, consistent outcomes, and risk management.
• Lead litigation operations, case-management processes, assignment models, budgeting, workflow improvements, and efficiency tracking.
• Oversee compliance, quality assurance, governance frameworks, internal controls, and operational performance metrics.
• Direct associate experience, engagement, training, leadership development, progression, and succession-planning strategies.
• Lead adoption and governance of litigation technology, including AI-enabled tools, in partnership with Legal Operations and Legal Technology.
• Coordinate organizational communications and stakeholder execution across Claims, Legal Operations, Legal Technology, outside counsel, and vendors.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in at least one state and ongoing compliance with all CLE requirements.
• At least 10 years of experience in litigation, legal operations, strategy, program management, or consulting, preferably in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Demonstrated people-management and senior-level leadership experience.
• Strong analytical, strategic problem-solving, change-management, and operational execution skills.
• Executive presence with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
• High ethical standards and a commitment to transparency and accountability.
