TL;DR
Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift (Advanced Composites Manufacturing): Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial facility and production equipment in an advanced composites manufacturing plant with an accent on electrical systems up to 480 volts, fabrication, and equipment reliability. Focus on diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults, programming industrial controls such as PLCs, and performing safe repairs using lockout/tagout procedures.

Location: Burlington, Washington, United States; onsite 2nd-shift work after initial training on day shift or a modified schedule.

Salary: $35.43–$40.79 per hour, plus a $1.75 per-hour differential for 2nd-shift work.

What you will do

  • Maintain facility systems and production equipment according to applicable specifications, standards, and repair practices.
  • Analyze equipment and facility problems, identify root causes, and disassemble, repair, and calibrate components.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment operating up to 480 volts.
  • Fabricate and weld components to repair and improve team areas and production equipment.
  • Provide responsive service to internal equipment users and support plant efficiency, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Work overtime, on-call, and callback assignments as needed to support plant operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; a technical college degree is a plus.
  • At least five years of related experience in two or more areas such as fabrication, welding, industrial controls, electrical work, plumbing, machining, mechanics, or pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use equipment such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
  • Ability to read safety precautions, operating and maintenance instructions, technical manuals, and procedures.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, qualifying temporary resident, refugee, or person granted asylum.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, push or pull 40 pounds sustained and 65 pounds initially, and perform extended walking, standing, crouching, and kneeling.

Nice to have

  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and programming industrial control systems such as PLCs.
  • Strong machining, welding, and fabrication skills.
  • Experience repairing and fabricating industrial equipment.
  • Training in electronic component troubleshooting and repair.
