Manager, Engineering - Originations (Java)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; this position is based in Plano, TX.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of features and services from architecture and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and build scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant services and APIs for dealer and customer-facing digital experiences.
• Own feature-level architecture for capabilities including PreQual, Pricing, Incentives, and Funding.
• Coordinate functional, integration, performance, and production-readiness activities for reliable delivery.
• Partner with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to translate priorities into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and promote engineering standards, resiliency practices, and operational discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production features or services.
• Hands-on experience developing Java-based services with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, event-driven APIs, AWS, ECS, Fargate, serverless components, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building and supporting highly available customer-facing applications and distributed systems, including automated, functional, integration, and performance testing.
• Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require hirify.global immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Frontend experience with React, Next.js, or Vue and the ability to review or troubleshoot UI components.
• Experience in automotive, lending, financial services, digital commerce, dealer platforms, or loan-origination systems.
• Experience with high-volume transactional systems, observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or CloudWatch, and platform modernization.
